Two More Join EU Club

Bulgaria and Romania will be allowed to join the European Union as full members on January 1, 2007, EU chiefs have announced.
The two new entrants will raise the total membership to 27.
European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said their membership would be a "historic achievement".
He said the union would be strengthened rather than compromised by their entry - but called on the EU to resolve the future of its stalled constitution.
